Notification under Section 32 of the Local Government Reform Act 2014.

Motor Tax

It is requested for first time taxing of light goods vehicles.

Corporate Affairs

It is requested on the Higher Education Grant Application form.

Human Resources

• payroll - to ensure that tax credits are attributed to the correct employee
• P35 return and any dealings with the Revenue Commissioners in relation to payroll

Finance

• payments – setting up suppliers for payments – used where payment is to an individual not registered for VAT
• finance – Database of Suppliers on Agresso Financial Management System to facilitate Section 891B reporting to Revenue Commissioners

Water Services

• it is requested on the forms for "Grants for the provision or necessary improvement of an individual water supply to a house"
• it is requested on water connection application forms

Community and Enterprise

The Local Development Companies collect the PPSN on a voluntary basis to register the participants and for programme evaluation purposes (Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme SICAP)

The Household Budget section only when tenant or purchaser agrees to pay rent or housing loan repayments through this service when the tenant or purchaser requests Housing or Finance Section to forward signed form by the tenant or purchaser to An Post.

Department of Environment, Community and Local Government

• recoupments under the Housing Acts
• in relation to the statutory assessment of Housing Needs
• when recouping grants for the provision of, or necessary improvement of an individual water supply

Housing Assistance Payments

• Sharing/requesting of PPSN s for the purpose of identification of persons for the HAP Scheme.
