Social Policy and Public Service Reform Division

The Social Policy and Public Service Reform Division comprises five business units: the Social Affairs Unit; the Social Affairs, Justice and Public Service Reform Unit; the Child Poverty and Well-being Unit; the Disability Unit; and the Health Unit. The Division supports the Taoiseach on social policy and public service reform and related matters, including the work of the Cabinet Committee on Justice, Migration and Social Affairs; the Cabinet Committee on Children and Education; the Cabinet Committee on Disability and the Cabinet Committee on Health. The Division also supports the Civil & Public Service Renewal programmes, including the Civil Service Management Board; the Oversight Board/Interdepartmental Group (IDG) for the Dublin North East Inner City (NEIC) Initiative; the Domestic, Sexual & Gender Based Violence (DSGBV) Strategy; the Dublin City Taskforce Report, all chaired by the Department. The Division also liaises closely with the National Economic and Social Development Office and its constituent National Economic and Social Council on which the Secretary General and Assistant Secretary General have ex-officio Chair and Deputy Chair roles.
