Appointment to the High Court

At its meeting today, the Government agreed to nominate Siobhan Stack S.C. for appointment as an Ordinary Judge to the High Court by the President of Ireland.

The vacancy will arise following the retirement of the Hon. Mr. Justice Bernard Joseph Barton on 10 March 2021.

The Government has taken the necessary steps to formally advise President Higgins of the nomination in accordance with constitutional practice.
