Taoiseach in Croatia for meetings with PM Plenković & other EU leaders

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is in Croatia today and Thursday where he will meet fellow leaders at the European People’s Party summit in Zagreb, and hold a bilateral with the Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

The Taoiseach will this evening attend a summit for Heads of State, Heads of Government and Opposition leaders from across Europe.

On Thursday he will meet with Mr Plenković to prepare for the next European Council meeting in December. Discussions will focus on Brexit, climate change, and the EU’s Budget.

Croatia takes on the Presidency of the EU in January and the Taoiseach will discuss the Prime Minister’s priorities for the term ahead, and also offer advice from Ireland’s own previous experiences of hosting the EU Presidency.
