Government meeting marks the centenary of Dublin Castle handover

On 16th January 1922, eight members of the Provisional Government, led by Michael Collins, arrived in Dublin Castle to receive its handover from the last Viceroy of Ireland, Lord FitzAlan-Howard.
To mark the 100th anniversary of this significant event a State Commemoration took place outdoors on Sunday, 16th January 2022, in Dublin Castle, in the presence of the President, Taoiseach, members of the Government and Council of State.
The Government also held a meeting in Dublin Castle to mark the occasion.
