Minister Ross announces appointment of new Chairman of the Board of daa plc

Mr. Shane Ross, T.D., Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport today announced the appointment of Mr. Basil Geoghegan as the new Chairman of daa plc. Mr. Geoghegan is expected to formally take up the three-year appointment following his appearance before the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport.

Mr. Geoghegan is a qualified solicitor, holding degrees in law - an LL.B from Trinity College and an LL.M from the European University Institute, Florence. Mr Geoghegan is a partner and founder of PJT Partners, a publicly listed advisory investment bank. Since joining PJT, he has led its business in the UK and Ireland and advised on numerous global and domestic transactions. He is also currently a non-executive Director of the Irish Aviation Authority, a position from which he will shortly step down.

Prior to PJT Partners, Mr. Geoghegan was a Managing Director with Citigroup in the UK and Ireland, and previously worked for Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs. He has extensive aviation experience, having advised aerospace companies such as BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce and Fairchild Dornier, airlines such as Aer Lingus, Ryanair and IAG, and aircraft lessors such as Avolon and Pembroke Capital.
