New board member appointed to Fáilte Ireland

The Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin, has today appointed Mr Dónall Curtin to the Board of the National Tourism Development Authority (Fáilte Ireland). Mr Curtin will serve a five year term.
- Welcoming the appointment of Dónall Curtin to the Board, Minister Martin noted the significant board experience Mr Curtin will bring to the role:
“I am delighted to announce this appointment and am very grateful to him for taking on this very important role and offering his skills and expertise to The National Tourism Development Authority.”
Speaking today, Chairperson of Fáilte Ireland, Ruth Andrews said:
“On behalf of the Authority and executive team at Fáilte Ireland I would like to welcome Dónall and congratulate him on his appointment. Dónall brings with him a wealth of experience in the areas of Corporate Governance and Finance that will bring significant value to the Authority, to Fáilte Ireland and the wider tourism sector.”

Dónall Curtin
Dónall is an experienced accountant, board director and business leader with a background in Finance, Corporate Governance, Audit and Risk Management and is highly skilled with extensive experience in both the public and private sectors.
Dónall’s board directorships include Green Effects Investments plc, Arts Council, Office of Government Procurement, Irish College Leuven and Early Childhood Ireland. He founded one of Ireland’s leading accountancy practice and has considerable experience of serving on Audit & Risk Committees, both in Private and Public sectors.
Dónall is a strong advocate of ensuring that best practice and good corporate governance exist within the boardroom and ensuring relevant structures within businesses to facilitate adoption of organizational values throughout.
Dónall continues to provide strategic advisory services to many organisations, he brings a unique combination of business/accountancy knowledge and a deep knowledge of the professional membership sector to the provision of solutions for many organisations.
