The departments mission statement in the current Statement of Strategy 2008-2010 is: “to deliver a quality transport system which underpins Ireland’s sustainable development”. This mission statement was adopted in the context of the Agreed Programme for Government.

The aim of this DoT Data and Statistics Strategy is to increase the availability of data and statistics relevant to the transport sector, and to improve the quality of analysis and outputs from this information.
