Donegal County Council proposes to construct a bridge extension and road realignment along the R-232 at Glenmore Bridge over the Loughultan River between Tieveboy and Glenmore, Co. Donegal in accordance with the drawings and documents associated with the Part 8 application.
The project will include:
a) Widening of the existing single span masonry arch bridge with concrete precast units supported on concrete foundations.
b) Removal of existing masonry wingwalls, construction of concrete retaining walls and earth embankments.
c) Construction of Type 2 single carriageway 7m wide with 0.5m hard strips on both sides (and 0.7m rubbing strip over the structure) for a length of 500m.
d) Installation of vehicle restraint system in the verge over the extent of the new road construction.
e) Removal of Vegetation where required for the works described.
f) All other ancillary and tie-in works to relevant standards.
