Summary

Donegal County Council proposes to replace the deck of Carrigart Bridge which has been assessed as structurally deficient. The works will involve the demolition and reconstruction of the bridge deck. It is also proposed to widen the structure and to facilitate temporary traffic management during the refurbishment works and to provide improved road width and pedestrian facilities on the completed scheme. As part of the development 164m length of footway will be provided to link the existing footway from the church and school to Carrigart town. All existing services will be accommodated within the refurbished bridge structure.
