Building Blocks

Build and run online services easily

The government’s Digital Public Services Plan 2030 sets out our vision for inclusive, high quality and integrated digital public services. The plan also highlights the departments or public service bodies that will lead on delivering 17 priority 'Life Events'. The Life Events approach involves redesigning public services to better meet people’s needs, and aligns with our goal of full digitalisation of key services by 2030. To achieve this, we are rolling out a set of Building Blocks.

Building Blocks are internal digital services for government use. They are reusable, compatible software parts. Building Blocks include messaging, digital forms, online payments, case management, and a design system that unites them all with a familiar look and feel.

Your users can complete a form, send you information, make secure payments and receive notifications with Building Blocks. It's low-cost, easy to set up and has accessibility built in from the start.

Government departments and public service bodies can use any number of these Building Blocks to create solutions that meet people's needs.
