How an application is made to the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal

Applications to the Tribunal may be made by either of the following bodies:
- the Law Society of Ireland
- the Legal Services Regulatory Authority (LSRA)
Applications cannot be accepted by the Tribunal from members of the public.
A form of application and a supporting affidavit must be completed by the applicant setting out the details of the complaint of alleged misconduct against the legal practitioner. The affidavit must be sworn or affirmed before a commissioner for oaths or a practising solicitor.
Any documents considered appropriate to support the application should be referred to in the affidavit and included with it.
