**Following a Public Appointments Service (PAS) campaign, the Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has appointed Catherine Mullarkey as Chair of the Board of St. James Hospital. The appointment is from 8 March 2022 until 7 March 2028.
Catherine has served as a non-executive director of St James’s Hospital since 2019 and was a member of the audit and risk committee and chaired the finance committee of the board. She has been self employed since 2005, involved primarily in property investment and development. Prior to this she worked in financial services with Anglo Irish Bank, KBC and IIB.
She is also a non-executive director of The Community Foundation for Ireland, one of Ireland’s leading philanthropic organisations, which provides donor services and strategic community grants. She served as a non-executive director with the Dublin Docklands Development Agency from 2007 to 2012 and was a member of the Audit, Finance and Risk committee and chair of the Arts and Culture committee.
Catherine graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1988 from UCD and subsequently qualified as a certified accountant (ACCA) in 1992. In 2017, she completed the Certificate and Diploma in Company Direction with the Institute of Directors.
