OPW Ploughing

The Office of Public Works (OPW) are delighted to return to the National Ploughing Championships 2026, taking place from September 15th to 17th, in Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

Visit the OPW stand in the Government of Ireland Village to discover how our work supports communities across Ireland by preserving our past and protecting our future.

This year’s stand will feature a range of engaging and interactive zones, including:

Available via the Official National Ploughing Association website

🚗 Driving:

Parking available onsite with directional signage from all major routes.

🚌 Public Transport:

Shuttle services will run from Tullamore and nearby towns – check local providers for updated schedules. A Shuttle Bus service operated by Bus Éireann will be in operation from Tullamore Train Station. You can use the Bus Éireann drop off / pick up service from Tullamore Train Station for a small fee: Return Ticket prices - €8 adult €5 children (16 & under) €20 family ticket (2 adults & 2 children). Pricing may change.

 

♿ Accessibility:

The OPW stand and wider event grounds are fully wheelchair accessible, with designated parking and toilet facilities available. Lifestyle Mobility provide rental of mobility scooters on site pre-booked by phoning 057 8644793. Rate for rental is €7 per hour. The Irish Wheelchair Association supply wheelchairs on site for a small refundable deposit.
