January 2026 Update – Dublin Commemorative Bridge

Works are continuing at the southern abutment (Gridline 80) on the Irish National War Memorial Gardens side. Current activities include archaeological monitoring, installation of silt fences and topsoil stripping. Works have commenced on the southern side diverting the foul sewer pipeline and concrete works to Gridline 80. The footpath along the riverbank on the southern side has been temporarily closed to facilitate the connection of the foul sewer diversion, this closure will be maintained until the piles and concrete works on Gridline 70 (closest abutment to the river) has been completed and backfilled. These piles shall be installed when the foul sewer pipeline has been diverted.

On the northern side, works are progressing with the testing of CFA piles and the construction of the abutment and Pier on Gridline 20 & 30.

Upcoming works on the Northern side include the commencement of the roadworks on Chapelizod Road. This includes the construction of a new entrance, footpath modifications and a new pedestrian crossing.
