Test Reports for Heavily-Modified Water Bodies

The EPA technical review of Ireland’s Heavily Modified Water Body Designations for the Third Cycle River Basin Management Plan has identified provisional candidate waterbodies for the consideration of designation that overlap with waterbodies within the Flood Relief Schemes (FRS) and Catchment Arterial Drainage and Estuarine Embankment Schemes (ADS).

The HMWB designation process consists of 11 steps, with steps 7, 8 & 9 categorised as the Designation Tests, (see European Union Common Implementation Strategy (CIS) guidance (No. 4)).

The OPW prepared reports on the relevant schemes to inform steps 7, 8 and 9 of the designation process for the relevant water bodies under consideration.
