Heritage Services: National Monuments Service (NMS)

The National Monuments Service (NMS) is responsible for the day-to-day running of all national monuments in State care (that is, in State ownership and guardianship). This role involves managing, maintaining and and preserving over 780 national monuments throughout the country.

The bulk of NMS resources are dedicated to conservation activities and the delivery of a range of relevant projects at these sites through the directly employed labour force.

A full listing of all national monuments is available here.

The Heritage Ireland website has more information on the many and varied heritage sites OPW has to offer.
