AGO staff recruitment

The staff of the AGO comprise of legal and non-legal staff. With the exception of some contract specialist positions staff are recruited via the Public Appointments Service (formerly the Civil Service Commission). Their website can be visited at www.publicjobs.ie.

Eligibility requirements for appointment to the Advisory Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General

Generally, to be eligible for appointment as Advisory Counsel, a person must be a qualified barrister or solicitor with significant post-qualification experience.
