Advisory Counsel Grade I - Group A

Responsibility for the co-ordination and management of the delivery of legal services by a group of lawyers (Advisory Counsel) (i) in response to requests for advice, (ii) in the process of drafting of legislation and (iii) in the context of litigation.

In co-ordinating and managing these services, doing so with a view to value for money, examining and developing means to improve their provision by the Office in a cost effective manner.

In providing these services, the legal areas covered by the Group include Justice and Crime matters including Prisons, Extradition and Criminal Mutual Assistance.

Carrying out management functions as a member of the Office's Management Committee.

Advisory Counsel (at grades equivalent to Assistant Principal and Principal Officer) are assigned to the Group.
