Governance and Performance Division

The Governance and Performance Division is responsible for:

  • managing and overseeing the department’s input into the HSE Corporate Plan and National Service Plan
  • ensuring ongoing monitoring of HSE performance against the HSE’s Corporate Plan and National Service Plan objectives and targets
  • policy in relation to clinical indemnity; co-ordination of the department’s oversight of its agencies, local governance and guidelines, including the implementation of the appointment process for State bodies in conjunction with the Public Appointments Service.

In addition, the Division has assumed responsibility for the operational success of scheduled and unscheduled care, including Winter Planning, ED Taskforce Implementation Group, liaison with the Special Delivery Unit and oversight of the National Treatment Purchase Fund.
