The Research and Development and Health Analytics Division is responsible for:

managing a research service through internal capability development and co-ordination of external research to inform the work of the Department of Health
planning and supporting strategic development of health information as part of a cross-departmental and intersectoral approach
implementation of an eHealth Strategy for Ireland and its alignment with the proposed health reforms in conjunction with HSE
promoting and protecting Ireland's interests at EU level and in other relevant international fora

The division also has responsibility for engagement with enterprise and academia in fulfilment of its functions.
