Minister McGrath supports the launch of the Civil Service Renewal 2024 Action Plan

The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Michael McGrath TD, has today, Tuesday 21st December, launched the Civil Service Renewal (CSR2024) Action Plan.
Commenting on the launch, the Minister said:
"I am delighted to launch Civil Service Renewal 2024. This marks a new and ambitious chapter for the Civil Service and I look forward to the benefits and outcomes it will bring to better serve the people of Ireland. I am confident that the public will see real benefits from the implementation of the new Renewal Plan.
"How we interact with public services is changing. Digital solutions to provide 24/7 services will mean the end user can engage with services at a time convenient to them. A good example of this will be the delivery of a Life Events Portal to register births or deaths with the minimum of disruption at a time when you are at your most busy or vulnerable.
"This Action Plan will help us to achieve our vision of an innovative, professional and agile Civil Service that improves the lives of the people of Ireland through excellence in service delivery and strategic policy development"
Civil Service Renewal 2024 is the first of a series of three Action Plans under the Civil Service Renewal 2030 Strategy which was published by the Minister earlier this year.
It focuses on three core themes:
Commenting further, Minister McGrath said:
"This plan provides an important roadmap for change in the Civil Service. The Plan will help us ensure that the Civil Service has the capability and capacity to address current and future challenges to better serve the public and the Government. I am looking forward to seeing the progress achieved by the Civil Service by working collaboratively to deliver the actions in the Plan."
