The Minister of State for Community Development, Integration and Charities, Joe O’Brien, today launched a Call for Proposals from organisations planning projects to support the reception and integration of Third Country Nationals in Ireland.
This follows funding provided to 20 organisations in 2016 and 19 organisations in 2019 following a similar Call for Proposals, both of which were supported by the 2014-2020 AMIF Programme. As a result of these initiatives, the path towards integration of migrants, many of whom have fled very challenging circumstances in other countries, has been made significantly easier.
Welcoming the announcement, Minister O’Brien said:
“The AMIF is a substantial fund over a period of four years so I would urge organisations thinking of applying to be ambitious, look at the big challenges in the area of integration and find a way of working collaboratively together on applications. There is huge goodwill amongst communities across Ireland to facilitate integration and where relevant this should be tapped into. This fund has real potential to make a positive tangible difference to migrant integration in Ireland.
“One of my department’s key goals is to provide a welcoming and safe environment for migrants, many of whom are fleeing conflict in the most challenging of circumstances. We look forward to the contribution these migrants will make to the economic, cultural and social aspects of Ireland. We are delighted with the many organisations that have provided very valuable supports to migrants under our previous Calls for Proposals, and look forward to receiving new applications under this call."
The closing date for receipt of applications is 12pm on Friday, 1 December 2023.
This call is part of AMIF 2021-2027 National Programme and open to public, private and voluntary bodies carrying out the following projects/activities:
Beneficiaries of temporary protection fleeing the conflict in Ukraine are eligible to participate on AMIF-funded projects.
