Minister Harris welcomes clarity on Leaving Cert results date

Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Simon Harris has today welcomed clarity on the Leaving Cert results date.
Minister for Education Norma Foley today confirmed that the State Examinations Commission intends to issue the Leaving Certificate 2023 results on Friday, 25 August 2023.
Minister Harris said:
"This is important clarity for all of us working in third level education. The issuing of results in September posed significant challenge for institutions and students. I am pleased Minister Norma Foley has announced the results will be issued in August. I hope this will provide some relief to institutions as they prepare to welcome new students.
"My department will now work with the Central Applications Office to confirm the date of offers. We will also continue to work with the third level sector to expand the number of places available to new students."
