Final Report: Short Term Review of Clinical Placement Allowances for Student Nurses and Midwives

This review was commissioned by the Minister for Health, Mr Stephen Donnelly TD, on the back of concerns regarding the financial and other supports provided to student nurses on clinical placement and internship during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Department of Health issued the Terms of Reference of the review on 11 December 2020. In addition to this short term review, the Minister has committed to a longer-term review of the supports provided to student nurses and midwives. The Report was submitted to the Minster on 31 December 2020.
