PIRLS & TIMSS 2011: Reading, Mathematics and Science Outcomes for Ireland (Main Report)
In 2011, Ireland participated in two major international studies assessing the skills of Fourth class pupils. PIRLS (Progress in International Reading Literacy Study) examined pupils’ reading achievement, while TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) examined mathematics and science achievement. This report summarises the main findings of the studies.
