A key commitment in The Sustainable Development Goals National Implementation Plan 2018-2020 was the establishment of the National Sustainable Development Goal Stakeholder Forum. This was established in June 2018, and has held three meetings to date.

The Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment now invites parties to register their interest in attending the Fourth Meeting of the National Sustainable Development Goals Stakeholder Forum.

This is a free ticketed event with limited capacity so we would ask that anyone interested in attending register without delay.

Where: Main Conference Centre, Dublin Castle, Dame Street, Dublin, D02 Y337

When you register, we will ask you to indicate your relevant sector – business, civil society, NGO, government, media, academia, etc. for statistical purposes. You will also be asked to indicate your dietary preference for catering purposes.

Once you register you should receive an automatic acknowledgement confirming your attendance; if this does not happen please contact us directly on SDGsIRL@DCCAE.gov.ie .

At the forum we look forward to welcoming new and existing representatives from across various networks, government departments and interested parties to explore how we can work together to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The theme for this session of the Forum is Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

The key note address will be given by An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar T.D. on "Ireland's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals."

The Taoiseach will be introduced to the Forum by Minister of State at the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Pat Breen T.D., who will then address the Forum in his speech: "The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation's role in facilitating Decent Work and Economic Growth"

This will be followed by a number of other presentations including ones from senior officials from the Departments of Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Children and Youth Affairs, and Rural and Community Development. We will also have a presentation on the new Ordnance Survey Ireland GeoHive which has been

developed in partnership with the Central Statistics Office and ESRI Ireland , and demonstrates how we can use centrally stored data to report on Ireland's progress on the Sustainable Development Goals.

The afternoon sessions will involve an opportunity for an in-depth discussion on Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth from a stakeholder perspective. We are also planning on establishing the first two Sustainable Development Goal stakeholder working groups; further details are included in the Agenda below.

A report and final conclusions from the breakout sessions will be published within 3 weeks of the Forum.

Also, to ensure that as many as possible can contribute to the question and answer session, we have arranged for mobile phone application SLIDO to be made available. Full details will be given alongside a demonstration at the Forum.

Finally, as piloted so successfully at the last Forum, and in line with our objective of ensuring that the Forum offers an information sharing platform for as many as possible, helping to build new connections and share experiences, we have arranged for spaces to be made available where guests can place stands and other promotion information for those in attendance.

If you wish to avail of this opportunity, please contact us on SDGsIRL@DCCAE.gov.ie and we will arrange early access to the Conference Centre from 8.30 am onwards to facilitate assembly of any promotion stands and so on.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Forum on the 30 July,
