The OGP's Commercial Skills Academy (CSA) was setup in 2019. The CSA offers training on best practice approaches for effective delivery throughout the lifecycle of a project. Their aim is to enhance the skillsets of key spending departments and public sector bodies.
Public procurement projects are often complex. Public servants need to have the commercial skills to address issues effectively.
The National Development Plan 2018 – 2027 sets out investment of almost €116 billion. Approximately 80% of this will be invested in works projects and/or delivered through the Capital Works Management Framework.
The CSA, with input from colleagues across the Public Service, has developed training modules aimed at all levels. Training is tiered from beginner level to advanced.
