The following pre-Budget submissions were received in the Department of Finance in advance of Budget 2022.
They come from a range of entities, including companies, sectoral representative organisations, trade unions, charities and advocacy groups. The publication of these pre-Budget submissions is intended to increase transparency around the pre-Budget process and allow an insight into the many demands made of the Minister for Finance in the run-up to the Budget each year.
The publication of these submissions may also be of interest to people who wish to make a submission in advance of this year’s Budget.
The Department received approximately 300 submissions in advance of Budget 2022. Some of these were duplicates with some pre-budget submissions forwarded to the Department from more than one source.
Submissions were also received from individuals, often outlining their particular circumstances and why they were requesting the Minister to take a particular course of action to support and assist them. The Department is not publishing these submissions so as to avoid the release of personal information which may identify people involved.
118 pre-Budget submissions are being published in respect of Budget 2022.
All submissions received are considered by the Minister and his officials in the context of the annual Budget.
