- the Report of the National Advisory Committee on Palliative Care (Department of Health and Children, 2001)
- the paediatric palliative care needs assessment ( Department of Health and Children, 2005), and the palliative care requirements of children with malignant or non-malignant diseases
- the newly developed systems and structures under the Health Service Executive (HSE)
