We want people to contribute their views for a shared vision on forestry that will set the foundation for how Ireland plants, manages and fells forests for the next generation. This will contribute to a new forestry strategy and the next forestry programme, which is due to begin in 2023.
Throughout 2022, there will be a range of opportunities for everyone to have their say. These include a public consultation and online questionnaire, a citizens’ assembly style deliberative dialogue, a public attitudes survey on planting new forests, youth engagement events, a report on the attitudes of rural communities towards forestry, and a series of bilateral engagements with a wide range of organisations.
