Assistant Secretary Road Transport Services

The responsibility of the Road Transport Services includes: road freight policy and the Government Road Haulage Strategy; promoting and advancing safety on the roads including coordination of the Government Road Safety Strategy; corporate governance oversight of the Road Safety Authority and the Medical Bureau of Road Safety; and development of strategy on the future use of automated and connected vehicles. The Assistant Secretary for Road Transport Services is also responsible for the Department's Strategic Research and Analysis function, which is part of the Irish Government Economic and Evaluation Service.
