The Early Start Pre-School Programme is a year-long intervention scheme to meet the needs of children who are at risk of not reaching their potential within the school system.
The programme applies to children aged between 3 and 5 in September of the relevant year. It involves an educational programme to:
enhance overall development
help prevent school failure
offset the effects of social disadvantage
Parents and guardians are asked to play a large role in the programme. This is because they are their child's primary educator and the programme helps them to become involved in their child's education.
This scheme is not open for applications.
