Atypical Worker Permission Scheme (Non-EEA Crew)


What the scheme is

The Atypical Working Scheme (Non-EEA crew) allows crew members from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) to apply to work in the Irish whitefish fleet.

This Scheme is administered primarily by the Department of Justice and Equality with the assistance of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine in consultation with the Departments of:

  • Business, Enterprise and Innovation
  • Employment Affairs and Social Protection
  • Transport, Tourism and Sport
