The Community and Language Support Programme provides ongoing capital and ongoing assistance to support community organisations and committees throughout the Gaeltacht that work for the Irish language and for the benefit of the Gaeltacht community.
As part of the investment made under the Programme, specific current funding is provided under various schemes, namely:
In addition, current assistance is provided under the Programme to assist Gaeltacht and Irish language organisations in implementing agreed work programmes with the department including Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge (NUIG), Connacht and Munster Council (Games Program) Gaelic). Details of the various Gaeltacht organisations currently in receipt of funding from the department to administer a program of specific activities on behalf of the department are given in the general report on the department's work on the Gaeltacht's interests 2019.
In order to further support the strengthening of the Gaeltacht's language and community infrastructure, capital assistance is provided to Irish language / Gaeltacht committees and organisations to provide or upgrade community and language facilities.
