Electric Vehicle Grant Scheme

The Department of Transport through the SEAI, provides up to €5,000 towards purchase of new battery electric vehicles (BEVs) purchased and registered in Ireland. A grant eligibility price cap of €60,000 applies. In addition, these vehicles also qualify for VRT relief of up to €5,000, providing a maximum combined subsidy (grant + VRT relief) of €10,000. A grant of up to €600 towards the installation cost of a domestic charge point for new and second-hand BEVs or PHEVs is also available through the SEAI.
EV purchase grants are accessed via the dealer, but information about which vehicles are eligible and where dealers are located is available from the SEAI.
