Here are just a few examples of what’s happening in Carlow:

Cork County Council is offering a host of activities to enable you connect, stay active and look after your wellbeing. Our wellbeing activities offer something for everyone - learn a new skill, share your 2km landscape or experience a virtual tour.
Here is just some of what’s on offer:
- a Collection of Stories from COVID-19. A collection of stories from COVID-19 for future generations, including responses to its impact on all aspects of daily life, from culture to commerce and everything in between
- Teen Talks. A series of online interviews providing a platform for second level students and now adults, to discuss issues affecting their health and wellbeing, while receiving advice and talks from a range of experts
- Within 2KM of Home Photo Challenge. An online photo competition will invite members of the public to show pride in their local community by capturing images of landscapes and wildlife within 2km of their home
- Housebound Library Home Delivery Service for Books and Musical Instruments. An innovative home delivery service for who are housebound or currently cocooning, delivering books and musical instruments directly to the door of library members
- Michael Collins House Virtual Tour. Marking the commemoration of the War of Independence, Michael Collins House, Clonakilty now offers a Virtual Tour of the museum allowing people to learn all about Michael Collins and the history of Irish independence from the comfort of home

Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council
Here are just a few examples of what’s happening in Dún Laoghaire Rathdown:
- Sport Ireland dlr Sports Partnership. See www.dlrsportspartnership.ie. The “Couch to 2k” 4 week guided programme is a mix of walking and jogging to gradually build up your fitness and stamina. Register on Eventbrite and received support, tips and advice to achieve your goal. A range of straightforward online exercise classes via YouTube for cocooners and anybody else
- libraries. A new dlr Book Drop services, via the existing dlr Community Call Helpline, bringing physical books and a care package to cocooners all over the county. We have a wealth of online resources available - digital books and audio books for download and wide range of other services – and it’s free to join. dlr Libraries has moved, where possible, its Healthy Ireland at your Library Programme online, engaging with event facilitators to create online resources, including online yoga for children and parenting support Vimeos
- biodiversity. dlr Biodiversity have set up a webpage for ideas on biodiversity activities that families can do during self-isolation. This includes some bird watching activities such as Bird Bingo, learning to spot a bird using a bird guide, learning bird songs and online videos for biodiversity such as How to make a Mammal tunnel
- dlr Arts. Graphic Studio Dublin's 60 anniversary exhibition has been moved to an online exhibition featuring dlr artists due to exhibit in the Municipal Gallery, dlr Lexicon. Online workshops are being created to explore simple printmaking techniques at home to keep everyone creative and learning new artistic skills
- dog walking. Cocooning at home and can't walk your canine companion? dlr County Council's own staff charity, HUG (Hope u Give), have established a dlr Staff Volunteer Dog Walker group. Your dog walked by people who know dogs
- dlr Heritage. Virtual tours of heritage sites all around the county are in development and will be viewable via our website and social media

Fingal County Council
Here are just a few examples of what’s happening in Fingal:
- Fingal Digifit. A home workout video series encouraging citizens of all ages and abilities to get fit during the COVID-19 crisis
- Wellbeing Activity Booklet. Developed by the COVID-19 Fingal Community Response Project for older and housebound people currently cocooning
- Tips for Young People. Fingal Comhairle na nÓg have provided tips on how young people can spend their spare time
- Community Hubs. Elderly vulnerable citizens receive a daily visit from community volunteers observing social distancing
- Online Arts Service. Fingal Arts Office is providing online clinics for artists and are live streaming arts projects
- Housing Information Videos. A suite of informative videos for citizens needing to access housing support services during the COVID-19 crisis
- Stay Connected. A YouTube channel from Fingal Libraries with storytime, online classes, craft ideas and lots more being added weekly
- Books for Traveller Children. A book gifting initiative which is distributing gift bags to traveller children across the county
- Irish Language Challenge. A 21 day online Irish language challenge to increase your cúpla focal

South Dublin County Council

- Community Call ‘Callouts’. Vulnerable clients contacted as part of the South Dublin Community Response
- MindMindR2019 Mental Health App. South Dublin County Council produced app that lists contact details and information on all mental health services in the County
- Let’s Get Creative Facebook Group. A South Dublin Libraries’ Facebook group for children and parents providing a safe, fun and educational outdoor adventure for children
- Storytime for children on Facebook and Instagram TV. A South Dublin librarian reads a children’s story live over Facebook and Instagram
- 5 Minute Crafts Challenge on Wednesdays and Saturdays. A quick and fun crafts for the family that can be done at home
- A Game of Codes. A three-day coding challenge for 2nd to 4th class children facilitated through Zoom
- Project Sums. Free online maths grinds for school goers carried out through Zoom

Galway City Council
Here are just a few examples of what’s happening in Galway City:
- the Healthy Galway City website is an information hub, signposting to reliable sources of health and wellbeing information, local programmes and events for Galway City
- see the Council’s website for Stay at Home Resources which highlights and shares resources to support the mind and body during the COVID-19 restrictions
- an Exercise Leaflet for older adults developed by HSE Physio Services is being distributed in Galway City
- all library members can enjoy free eBooks and eAudiobooks through the Borrowbox app
- Galway City Comhairle na nÓg are asking young people 12-17 years living in Galway City to take part in an art analysis competition to raise awareness about mental health
- 'Buggy Buddies' has moved online to Facebook to help participants to stay connected and to stay active. A qualified instructor delivers a live exercise session each Tuesday at 10:30am, with weekly live postnatal friendly exercise via Zoom
- Age and Opportunity have kindly provided Sport Ireland Galway Sports Partnership with a number of exercise DVDs for older adults, ideal for those who may not have access to social media. See www.galwayactive.ie
- Cúirt International Festival of Literature is pleased to announce that their festival is presented as a digital festival. It is broadcast online and entirely free

Galway County Council
Here are just a few examples of what’s happening in Galway County:
- Healthy Galway, in partnership with Sport Ireland Galway Sports Partnership, (see www.galwayactive.ie) are providing leaflets with 8 exercises for Older Adults who are cocooning. These will be distributed via Meals on Wheels, Family Resource Centres and organisations registered with the COVID-19 Community response in Galway or through the helpline
- Virtual Tidy Towns with a platform on Facebook to allow individuals and Tidy Towns groups to continue to connect virtually and share the joys of nature and biodiversity in their gardens and on their walks
- Galway Beo - connecting people and heritage in County Galway: A New Digital Heritage Initiative. Through Galway Beo, Galway County Council wants to celebrate the rich heritage of County Galway and help connect people with their heritage and each other during this challenging time. People are invited to email galwaybeo@gmail.com a photograph, drawing, poem or story to highlight the inspiring heritage of County Galway
- Galway Community Heritage – Online Heritage Portal. See the great work that the heritage communities of county Galway have digitised in partnership with Galway County Council, the National Museum of Ireland and the Heritage Council
- Gardening for Biodiversity. A new booklet to help everyone to help wildlife in their gardens, no matter how big or small, has been launched
- Galway County Council Arts Office/Creative Ireland Culture Team in partnership with Galway City Council and Roscommon County Council Creative Ireland Team have commissioned Branar Theatre Company to create a virtual Pop up Poetry for Lil Peeps for Cruinniú na nÓg this year. - Library Online Services. Kerry County Council’s library service enables people to access audio books, e-Books, magazines and newspapers online and as well as online learning resources
- Spring into Storytime video Initiative. As children cannot come into our libraries for our Saturday morning Storytime reading sessions, they have moved them online
- Kerry County Museum Online. Kerry County Museum has an Online Resources page on its website, which has a variety of things available to download, such as the Medieval Tralee colouring book, fact sheet and timeline and a virtual tour of an archaeological dig, based around Killaclohane Portal Tomb
- Healthy Kerry Facebook Page. The Healthy Kerry Facebook page is also sharing wellbeing tips during COVID-19 restrictions
- Sport Ireland Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership. Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership Facebook page and the “Lets Get Kerry Walking” website, include a number of documents that provide wellbeing messages for both the older population and tips on exercise in these restricted times. - Age Friendly Initiatives. Kerry County Council has developed new contact groups for Age Friendly and daily information updates. 10,000 Leaflets have also been distributed with useful phone numbers

Here are just a few examples of what’s happening in Kildare:
- Sport Ireland Kildare Sports Partnership have launched a series of Sports Stars videos on mental health and wellness with celebrities and athletes. See www.kildare.ie/kildaresp
- a live stream concert and a sing-along initiative aimed at residents of Nursing Homes and anyone experiencing loneliness or isolation
- the National Biodiversity Data Centre are inviting submissions of sightings of any 20 species that commonly occur in gardens

- workout classes and inclusive exercise classes for adults, children, teenagers, older persons and those with limited mobility and adapted exercises for older people in self-isolation

- Maynooth Film for All has launched Access Cinema at Home - a streaming offering and film club reviews to replicate the film club experience

Laois County Council

- Laois COVID-19 Community Response Helpline. A helpdesk that responds to the needs of vulnerable members of our community, providing information and linking them with necessary supports
- Heritage in your 2km. Discover the built, natural and cultural heritage in your local area, on your 2km walks
- Music Generation Laois are also providing an online platform for young people in Laois to showcase their musical talents and have created an online tutorial platform to continue their engagement work as part of the Music Rich Schools programme
- Creative Ireland Laois programme. As part of our Cruinniu na Nog 2020 programme, Laois Culture Team is working with 25 children and young people across the county in the areas of dance, music, theatre, libraries and heritage and biodiversity to explore and interpret their ideas on ‘A Sense of Place’
- Sport Ireland Laois Sports Partnership. A range of online programmes including videos for physical activities such as stepping, zumba, home exercise circuits are now available on social media. See www.laoissports.ie

Library Services have moved events and activities online and are producing and broadcasting live videos featuring storytime and crafts for younger users, literature, mindfulness and local history talks on Facebook
- Go Wild in the Garden! Wildlife work sheets for parents and teachers, to bring the wildlife in your garden to life! Easy activity based worksheets for all ages

Leitrim County Council

- Leitrim County Library hold online Story Telling events on social media as part of the Spring into StoryTime programme

Monaghan County Council

Offaly County Council
Here are just a few examples of what’s happening in Offaly:

- Offaly Healthy Ireland at Your Library webinars on topics including ‘how to cope with anxiety’ and ‘coping with exam stress’

- Offaly County Council, together with Offaly Age Alliance has produced a newsletter primarily focusing on those cocooning, which will be distributed to 4,000 households around the county

Roscommon County Council
Here are just a few examples of what’s happening in Roscommon:
- Studios, Workshops and Kitchen Tables. Virtual studio visits to visual artists and facilitators studios that the centre is engaging with during 2020. The projected date for the first session is 12pm Tuesday 28th April from the studio of Mark Garry and fortnightly thereafter
- LIVE: Literature in Venues Experience. In association with Words Ireland and 5 other Irish venues, throughout May Roscommon Arts Centre will co-host a series of talks and readings from a number of writers via YouTube
- Roscommon Heritage Explorer. Become a heritage explorer from the comfort of your own home. Use the new Monument Research Tool Kit and see what you can find out about a mysterious monument
- "Lockdown Sing-along” a collaboration with The Hawk’s Well Theatre in Sligo and artist Cathy Jordan for a daily live-streamed choral session
- "Theatre Shop” links to theatre performances, musicals, concerts and ballet performances at least once a week that audiences can view these included performances by the Abbey Theatre, Druid Theatre Company and The National Theatre (England), Branar Theatre Company and Catherine Wheels Theatre Company
- Ceol Connected: The Far Field: In association with Ceol Connected and partner venues, throughout May Roscommon Arts Centre will co-host online music workshops for children aged 3+ (two per week). Each workshop will have a “join in” option and explore themes of the show “The Far Field” which was due to play at Roscommon Arts Centre in May. Themes to be explored include folklore, nature, fairy tales, and so on
- "Home Schooler Alert” daily online alerts providing arts related links to parents home-schooling for arts and crafts, dance, theatre, visual art and museum activities to either access online or to print and try at home
- Spring into Storytime Online. This online service has been developed by library staff and posted on a daily basis. The online service will continue during April and May

Sligo County Council

- Active Sligo from Home Guide. ‘Home Exercise for Aging Well’ supports aging well in the home through a partnership with Ocean FM whereby exercises to be broadcast on local radio
- Sligo Standing Strong campaign. Sligo Public Participation Network organising a ‘sligostandingstrong’ campaign to catalogue of all the positive community action happening in Sligo under COVID-19
- Mental Health. Cranmore Mentor Programme has regular posts on looking after yourself, mindfulness and keeping positive and 5 Day Quarantine Exercise Challenge

Tipperary County Council

- Be A Historian. Accounts to experience ‘Life in Lockdown’ by writing a letter, keeping a diary, drawing pictures, taking photos
- Online Craft Sessions for kids, big and small! Join Valerie on our Facebook page for regular craft sessions
- 'ReCOVer Together' allows people living in Tipperary, at home or abroad, to share their COVID-19 experiences with the museum
- 'Rediscovery of Mick Delahunty's Lost Recordings’ played in nursing homes, hospitals, through local radio bringing joy to residents and patients

- ThisIsWaterford.ie invites Waterford people to add and share stories, photos and musical content which showcases pride of place for Waterford
- Poetry Ireland Day. Liaise with local poets and writers around a virtual Poetry Ireland Day
- invite local authors and local historians to read from their work – both online and in partnership with WLR FM
- Video Diaries being produced by Teenagers in preparation for Virtual Cruinniú

- Call to Chat is operated by the Older Persons Committee and Community Call team and is available to people who are cocooning as a response social isolation

- Befriending Service. More than 130 older isolated people in Westmeath receive befriending phone calls on a weekly basis, some on a daily basis
- Healthy Ireland. Keep up to date with all our Healthy Ireland events online and watch our series of Healthy Ireland talks delivered online
- Online Chat Room. LGBTI youth group are being supported remotely and through newly established online chat room
- Online Book Club. Connect with readers and book lovers through our online book club
- Library Online services. Access to e-Books, e-Audiobooks, online newspapers, online magazines, online courses and online language learning
- Arts and Culture. Connecting online with the community through regular posts and information keeping an arts and culture online presence ‘alive’ and ‘connected’
- Music Generation creating online experiences. Moving instrumental tuition online. Using ‘hangouts’ and Zoom sessions online to connect with musicians and students
- Westmeath Community Development and Sport Ireland Westmeath Sports Partnership distributed home exercise leaflets from Age and Opportunity to older people
