The ‘looking back, moving forward, together’ campaign aims to start a national conversation about the progress Ireland has made to achieve equality for the LGBTI+ community, while also reflecting on the work that remains to be done.
Great strides have been made in recent years to promote LGBTI+ equality. However, despite progress made, challenges remain. LGBTI+ people continue to face significant barriers to full participation in public life and face unacceptable levels of stigmatisation, discrimination and harassment in their day-to-lives.
As the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth commences work on identifying priority areas for inclusion in a new successor LGBTI+ Strategy, this conversation is more important than ever.
It is now time to move forward together as a country, and work to achieve equality for all.
Join the conversation and let’s move #forwardtogether #araghaidhlinn
