Community Centres are buildings that are community owned and primarily used for community activities.
They are public locations where members of a community tend to gather for group activities, social support, public information, and other purposes.
The Community Centres Investment Fund – New Builds Measure will invest circa €20 million in new build multi-functional community centres with a minimum grant of €1,000,000 up to a maximum of €6,000,000.
The measure is designed for ‘shovel-ready’ projects with all the necessary permissions and consents in place. The deadline for the receipt of applications was 3 July, 2023.
In 2022 capital funding of over €45 million was provided for the improvement and refurbishment of existing community centres in both urban and rural areas.
