The Deputy Legal Advisor has been assigned responsibility for: a Unit in the Legal Division that:
provides legal advice and assistance to a number of Divisions and Units of the Department and in relation to BREXIT and treaty law,
coordinates the development, implementation and promotion of policy on legal issues at the UN General Assembly and on international humanitarian law and the law of the sea, and
administers the Department’s treaty Office
represents Ireland at meetings in the UN, the EU and other international organisations and legal fora and for deputising for the Legal Adviser.
