Teresa is responsible at Principal Officer level for:

Management of the reporting of child protection concerns received by DES staff members
Management of the administration of appeals against expulsions, suspensions and refusals to enrol (Section 29 appeals)
Advancement of legislation to provide for a Student and Parent Charter in every school
Management of Post-Primary Online Database
Management of the processing of appeals against refusals to grant an exemption from the study of Irish
Representing the DES on the Government Task Force on Emergency Planning
Management of liaison between the DES and the National Parent Councils and the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union
Oversight of the schools’ vaccination programmes administered by the HSE
Management of certain aspects of the Home Tuition schemes of the DES
Representing the Section on various inter-Departmental and inter-agency committees and units
