Director of Forestry oversees and coordinates the output of the three DAFM Forestry Divisions and reporting directly to the Assistant Secretary General with responsibility for Forestry, Agri-Environment schemes and Structures,

The role includes:

overseeing the implementation of Project Woodland
development of a new National Forestry Strategy and a new National Forestry Programme
overseeing the administration of existing Department schemes on forestry
inputting to the development of new schemes including on interaction between forestry and agri-environment policy
completion of National Forest Inventory and directly inputting to DAFM policy on climate, biodiversity and the environment
