Research Conference

There is broad consensus that health and social care system capacity needs to expand to meet growing care needs and to deliver the person-centred healthcare system envisioned in Sláintecare. COVID-19 placed significant strains on the resilience of key components of system capacity – the workforce and capital infrastructure - highlighting the need for greater investment. However, it also demonstrated the leadership embedded throughout the health system which allowed it to rapidly adapt to the challenge by the adoption of innovative reforms in data utilisation, ICT and workforce practices to boost capacity in a time of need.

This conference will discuss research which provides evidence-informed insights on how we can sustainably invest in the workforce and capital infrastructure as well as highlighting how cross-cutting enablers such as data, service delivery reform, digital health, leadership/governance can combine to optimise them.
