Project Ireland 2040 seeks to achieve ten strategic outcomes, building around the overarching themes of wellbeing, equality and opportunity. These ten shared priorities will ensure a consistent approach between planning objectives under the National Planning Framework and investment commitments under the National Development Plan.
This ambitious plan will drive Ireland’s long term economic, environmental and social progress across all parts of the country over the next decade. The plan is fully integrated with the approach to spatial planning set out in the National Planning Framework.
The companion to this document is the National Development Plan, a ten year strategy for public capital investment of almost €116 billion. Their joint publication as Project Ireland 2040 is perhaps the most radical break with the past: aligning investment strategy with strategic planning documents.
Creat atá ann mar threoir don infheistíocht phoiblí agus phríobháideach, le deiseanna a chruthú agus a chothú dár ndaoine, agus lenár gcomhshaol a fheabhsú – ónár gcuid sráidbhailte go dtí ár gcathracha, agus gach a bhfuil thart orthu agus eatarthu.
