The department proactively seeks to engage with all stakeholders and third parties in a deliberative dialogue on current and future forestry policies. This is best demonstrated through the Communications and outreach programmes underway within Forestry and in partnership with Teagasc, Coillte and others.

It is our intention to expand this programme rapidly into 2026 and beyond. This will become the primary method of engagement with the Division on forestry policy matters.

Correspondence that is not part of the statutory licencing process, Access to Information on the Environment (AIE) or Freedom of Information (FOI) should be addressed solely to the Forestry Support Unit –fsu@agriculture.gov.ie . The Forestry Division will endeavour to respond, as appropriate, in accordance with the department’s Customer Charter guidelines. Due to the volume of correspondence received by the division, contact or engagement, outside the advised process, may not be responded to.

Obstructive communication, for example repeatedly emailing multiple email addresses, submitting multiple correspondences on a single topic or are subjecting staff to any form of abuse may be subject to the Department’s Customer Charter on unreasonable behaviour.
