Minister McConalogue announces opening of applications for Equine Technical Support & Equine Breeding Schemes

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue, today announced the launch of the Equine Technical and Equine Breeding Scheme 2023 and the opening for receipt of applications.

The scheme, which has a budget of more than €800,000, is comprised of three programme headings: General Programme; Training/Education Programme; and Research into Equine Diseases Programmes.

The Minister said:

“I am pleased to announce the launch of the Equine Technical and Equine Breeding Scheme 2023 which this year is worth €850,000. The funding is provided to support various equine industry projects. This ongoing commitment and support to the equine sector in the areas of studbooks and breeding, education and research demonstrates my commitment to the ongoing development of the equine sector."

Applicants for aid will be obliged to comply with the specific terms and conditions of each programme and projects must be completed by year end. The closing date for submission for applications is 5pm on Friday 10 February 2023.

An amendment to the General Terms and Conditions of the Scheme was made on 08/02/2023 and can be found on this site.
