Anne Burke is a committee member of Europa Donna Ireland (EDI). Europa Donna is a European organisation which advocates for women in breast cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment and research. EDI has been in Ireland for twenty-one years in Ireland and has been active in campaigns such as extending the age for breast cancer screening and support for women with metastatic breast cancer.
Anne’s background is in medical science and she has recently retired. In 2017, Anne completed an MSc in Science Communication in Dublin City University.
Anne is particularly interested in how patients communicate about illness and how online communication is transforming knowledge sharing. She is also interested in mental health issues and is training to be a peer support worker.
Anne lives in Dublin with her family.
