Appointment to the Medical Council - 10 December 2021

On the nomination of the Private Hospitals Association, the Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly, has appointed the following as a member of the Medical Council with effect from 8 December 2021 to 31 May 2023:

Mr Maher is a successful leader with a track record of developing and implementing strategy to deliver growth and high-quality patient care, improving performance and leading transformational change. He has considerable experience at Board and senior management level in both the UK and Ireland in both the Private and Public Sector. He is currently employed as Group Chief Executive of Bon Secours Health System, Irelands largest Private Hospital Provider. He holds an MSc in IT and an MBA as well as a BA (Honours) in Law and BA (Hons) in Accountancy.
