Minister McGrath welcomes launch of Garda video to help Deaf Community

Minister for Disabilities Finian McGrath has welcomed the launch of a video by An Garda Siochána outlining the Garda assistance available for deaf and hard of hearing people during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
The Minister said:
"Gardaí, like all our frontline staff, are doing trojan work in supporting the public during this incredibly challenging time. However, I was very conscious that deaf and hard of hearing people may be unaware of the help available."
The Minister added:
"When I raised the possibility of making this awareness video with Garda management, I was delighted at their willingness to do so. This video will be of huge assistance to a group so often forgotten by wider society due to what's sometimes called a hidden disability."
