Pre-application consultation
An applicant for an ORE site investigation licence is required to consult the Marine Planning and Foreshore Section well in advance of finalising proposals. You will need to submit a pre-application form outlining the project in advance of the meeting available here.
You will be required to provide at a pre-application meeting:
- a detailed project description
- a project timetable
- details of any other consents required
- details of any consultations undertaken
- identify how your proposed project is compatible with Ireland’s Offshore Renewable Energy Development Plan
You should be familiar with planning, environmental impact assessment and appropriate assessment requirements.
You may be advised to undertake further consultations with individual relevant State bodies and local stakeholders before submitting a formal foreshore licence application. You may be directed at the pre-application meeting with regard to consultees relevant to the nature of the proposed application. A comprehensive list of consultees is available here.
